After consideration of recent events and ongoing developments the officers and member reps have decided to cancel or postpone all events in April.  This includes Sporting Clays, rentals, meetings (executive board and membership), Easter Egg hunt, Tag Sale, Game Dinner, and Opening Day breakfast.  As previously communicated Wednesday noon, Wednesday evening and Sunday Trap are also canceled until further notice.  The DEEP has also canceled the Hunter Safety class that was scheduled in April.

The ranges and Trap Your Own remain open but are now limited to members only effective immediately.  When using the ranges please continue to use social distancing protocols and be considerate of your fellow members.  If reasonable precautions are not being followed we will have to consider closing the ranges out of a concern for the safety of our members and our community.  Please remember that the rifle range is closed Saturday March 21 and will remain closed until 1 pm on Sunday March 22.

Fishing remains open for members only but again, please observe social distancing.  Please do not come to the club if you are ill or have been exposed to the virus.  Slowing the spread of the virus is the responsibility of all of us.  The sooner we, as a community, slow the spread of the virus the sooner we can start to return to normal.

The officers, in consultation with the member reps and other members of the executive board, will continue to monitor events and make further decisions as needed based on the best interests of the club.

Due to the ongoing virus situation and in accordance with the governor’s executive order, ALL regularly scheduled trap is canceled. This means Sunday morning, Wednesday afternoon member shoots, and Wednesday night.  We hope to see you on the trap field when these events have passed.  Stay safe and stay healthy.

Good shooting with a shotgun and a camera!  Look closely and you'll see the targets breaking in the distance.  Photo credits to Steve Handley!

We have seen some pretty good shooting at the Trap Field this month.  In the month of June we have been running a High Line Challenge and tracking the combined score of each squad (or line) of shooters.  On Sunday (Father's Day) we had a squad of shooters attain a combined score of 117.  That means that they, as a group, missed only 8 clay targets out of 125.  The squad consisted of Teymur Kazakov, Randy Whitehouse, John Cristini, Fred Scimone and Todd Jackson.  On Wednesday, June 21 we witnessed Dave Guandalini shoot 100 straight clay targets.  That's the first 100 patch issued in recent memory.  We also had our first female shooter, Tori Williams, earn a 25 patch.  Congratulations everyone!
